What the score measures
Each question is a line from a Google Ads audit checklist, chosen because it predicts wasted spend and CPA. The best answer scores 10, the next 7, then 4, then 0. Ten questions, so the total is out of 100. Bands are Excellent at 85 and up, Good from 70 to 84, Average from 50 to 69 and Needs work under 50.
The questions are weighted equally on purpose. In practice tracking and negatives matter more than reporting cadence, but an account that scores 0 on reporting rarely scores well on anything else, so the simple sum tracks the audit outcome closely. The ordering of the fixes matters more than the weights: verify tracking first, then negatives and match types, then bidding, then everything else.
For reference, the account behind our wasted spend calculator would score about 34. It spent $3,978 in 30 days, tracked 3 conversions, had no negative routine and 292 zero-conversion search terms costing $1,427.

Questions
How is the Google Ads account score calculated?+
Ten questions, one answer each, scored 10, 7, 4 or 0 points. The total is out of 100. The questions cover the habits that decide wasted spend and CPA: negative keyword routine, match types, conversion tracking, search terms review, budget pacing, landing page speed, ad strength, audience exclusions, bid strategy and reporting cadence. Bands: 85 and up is Excellent, 70 to 84 Good, 50 to 69 Average, under 50 Needs work.
What score should a well-run Google Ads account get?+
Accounts with a weekly negative keyword routine, verified conversion tracking and target CPA bidding usually land at 80 or higher. Most accounts managed part-time score between 45 and 65. A score under 50 almost always comes with more than 30% of spend on search terms that never convert.
Do I need to give my email to see the score?+
No. The score, the band and the three biggest gaps show immediately. The email is only asked for the full per-question breakdown with the fix for each answer. Nothing you select in the quiz is stored on a server; it stays in your browser.
